Secrets, Games and Guilt
(10-12 years) (13-19 years) (5-9 years) Workshop II (1 hour) This workshop is comprehensive for every age group. We work with children according to their needs. We use play arts and crafts and story telling to teach our younger participants how to be safe. Some topics include: What is sexual abuse? What predators want youth to believe and the truth. Tricks predators use to gain their victims trust. Setting healthy boundaries. |
Poetic Expressions
This workshop is fun for all ages! Learn fun creative ways to express yourself. Topics include: What is poetry? How to get thoughts to paper. The freedom of writing. Types of poetry. If you were a poem, what poem would you be? Self portraits. Open mikes. Digital copies of performances and booklets of poetry written by participants are available. |
Living on Purpose
Learn how to be your authentic self. This workshop includes topics such as: Understanding my purpose. Setting and obtaining clear and reasonable goals. The sky is the limit. First impressions. Better decision making. How to Succeed In Spite of: Racism, Abuse and Ourselves
This workshop is developed to empower youth, ages 11-17. Topics include: The history of racism, leaders of the civil rights movement. Ways to succeed in spite of discrimination. Myths of sexual abuse in the Black community. How to succeed in spite of abuse. Self fulfilling prophesy. Staying positive under any circumstance. Living and enjoying the life you were destined to lead. |
Overcoming Burn out and Compassion Fatigue
Are you a helper? Do others depend on you on a consistent basis? Do you want to live your best life? Are you ready to reenergize yourself and begin enjoying what you were meant to do once again? If you answered, yes, to one of these questions, You are not alone. This is the support group for you. This is a support group for helpers of all kind, 6 weeks, 1 day a week. Participants will take a short assessment. Learn how to cope with internal and external stressors. Healing from internal and external trauma's. Resources available. |

(K-4, K-5- through 2nd grade) (1 hour) Fun poems read with enthusiasm in story form. Little ones will write their own poems and receive them in booklet form. |
Bee Safe
(K-4, K-5- through 2nd grade) (1 hour) Participants learn how to be safe, How to set boundaries. How to say, "NO!" How to identify appropriate and inappropriate touch. |
